Latest Browser For 10.5 Osx Firefox Power Mac G4

Disclaimer: I am not familiar with Apple computers. This is my first post in the Macintoshian Achaia.
I have a friend in need of getting a Powerbook G4 into working condition. It is a Powerbook5,4PowerBook5,2. It is upgraded with 2GB of ram (maximum), has a dying hard drive, and a dead battery.
His system reads:
Machine Name: PowerBook G4 15'
Machine Model: PowerBook5 ,2
CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1)
Memory: 2GB
Boot ROM Version: 4.7.1f1
OS Ver. OS X 10.4.11
Here are the issues pertinent to the OS we are considering:

  • The Powerbook currently has MacOS 10 on it. Since we already have a license (I assume) can we get install disks for free or cheaply?
  • What is the latest OS that the G4 Powerbook can run? (solved, X 10.5.8) Where can we find that?
Thanks!

Mac OS X Tiger (10.4) is probably the best OS to run on a G4. Running Tiger and with at least 256mb RAM (512mb or more is better) you can run TenFourFox which is still a currently maintained fork of Firefox for older PPC Macs. Mozilla stopped supporting Power Macintosh and Mac OS X v10.4 with Firefox. Code to work with OS X Tiger and the 10.4 SDK, modified font code to use Apple Type. The G4 and G5 versions include AltiVec code, for example, and the G5. Known browser for Power Macs to support TLS 1.2 and runs on 10.4 and 10.5.

Edit:
Oops, made a mistake. The Powerbook is actually a Powerbook 5,2 not a 5,4 as I originally stated. It looks like the latest OS that can be installed is still the same (X 10.5.8) I updated the specifications link as well. He also has an install disc from his current Apple notebook. According to him it is a:
macbookpro4,1 2.6 ghz intel core 2 duo, 4 gb 677 mhz ddr2 sdram, 6mb L2 cache, 800 mhz bus speed, GeForce 8600M GT (512 MB), I think the HDD is 200GB at 7200 rpm.

It turns out that his Macbook Pro in question also came with a disc that is labeled 'Mac OS version 10.5.2'
Is this disc compatible with the old Powerbook? I am not certain since his current Macbook Pro uses the x86 instruction set (Intel Core 2 duo) and the old Powerbook uses the RISC instruction set (PowerPC 7447a (G4)).
